Get around town with ease during NCAA

NCAA tournament events kick off tomorrow, which is expected to bring thousands of sports fans to Wichita.

The city wants to make sure everyone gets around town with ease.

Fans can check out their favorite teams and players during Open Practice Day tomorrow at Intrust Bank Arena, from 11 a.m. to 6:20 p.m.

Q-LINE Trolley

According to Wichita Transit officials, the free Q-LINE trolley will feature extended routes and hours.

Starting tomorrow, the trolley will run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. From Thursday through Saturday, the service runs from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. The trolleys will run on the Old Town and Douglas routes.

Shuttle Bus

Transit officials said the city will operate shuttle bus services on Thursday and Saturday, with designated Park and Ride shuttle lots around town.

Shuttle lots are located at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, Waco and 1st Street, and Intrust Bank Arena.

Shuttles will begin two hours prior to tip off, and end one hour following the final game.

A Wichita Transit representative will be on site, as well as security.

Other transportation options

A Wichita Transit representative will be on site to answer questions, as well as security.

Another transportation option is Wichita’s bicycle transportation system — Bike Share ICT.

You must download the Zaster Bike Share ICT application on your mobile device to unlock a bike and ride anywhere around the city. For more information, visit the Bike Share ICT website.

During the NCAA tournament, transit officials encourage the public to visit or Wichita Transit for information such as: parking lots, street closures, Q-LINE Trolley routes, shuttle lots and more.
