Christmas is the season of giving, no one will argue with that, but this year, Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking to give local Wichita children presents that are more than just toys.
In this years 12 Littles of Christmas, we meet some of the smartest.
“Mainly, I like to read,” says Lyah.
Janaya adds, “I like to write.”
Colton says, I like to ride ATV’s and dirt bikes.”
And active kids around.
“I like to run and play tag,” says Quamae.
Trinity adds, “I like to do boxing because me and my brother do boxing with each other.”
These are the 12 Littles of Christmas.
Janaya says, “I am a good singer!”
Wednesday, the creative juices were flowing.
“I got some stickers,” says Jacob.
The kids were making stockings for Christmas. KSN caught up with each of them to ask them some unique questions. For instance, if you had a superpower, what would it be?
“Reading a book fast,” says Lyah.
“Time travel,” says Janaya.
Lai’Andre says he would, “fly.”
Definitely some good choices. But what each of these kids really wants is just someone to hang out and kick it with.
“It would mean a lot to me,” says Terrance.
Jacob says, “I would have someone to play with.”
“I would stop being alone,” says Lai’Andre.
These kids are just hoping for a big brother,
“I just want to do boy stuff,” says Terrance.
Some are looking for a big sister.
Amarri says, “It would be fun for me because I was the only child until September.”
These hopeful Littles are just looking for some guidance and shared common interests.
Trinity adds, “It would help me improve my personality.”
Kaisen says, “We would go to the park and go to the movies
Mia is hoping for something similar. She says, “Go to the park and run the track and just walking and talking.”
They may be only eight to 11 years old but these kids know the true meaning of Christmas.
“I honestly think it’s not always about getting presents. I think it’s mainly about going to church,” says Lyah.
But the gift of a Big?
“It would mean that I would not be the only boy in the family,” says Quamae.
Now that is a present worth getting.
“I would have a special friend,” says Zannah.
