New information has been released by McPherson County following a school threat that was made to Moundridge High School on Tuesday.
According to a release from the Office of the County Attorney, Moundridge police received a report of a text message sent to a Moundridge High School student saying a school shooting was going to take place that day.
Moundridge police investigated and assistance was provided to the department by the Federal bureau of Investigation and the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office.
Through the investigation, law enforcement determined the threat was a hoax. The McPherson County Attorney’s Office has filed a juvenile complaint charging the person who allegedly sent the text message.
Authorities say they do not believe an actual threat of violence ever existed.
