The K-State faithful are dealing with Friday’s loss to UC Irvine in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
The Wichita Catbackers held an unofficial watch party at Bubba’s 33 near Towne East Mall in Wichita.
It was packed with fans cheering on the Wildcats. Some fans telling KSN they took the day off from work to watch the game.
In the final minutes of the game you could feel the excitement in the air. Everyone’s hopes were up but K-State unfortunately came up short. Despite the loss, fans are still calling it a good season.
“I knew it was going to be a tough game I really did,” said Romano Gardenhire.”Not having [Dean] Wade was going to hurt. I thought they played pretty good but just couldn’t do it.”
“Luckily, we did get the Big 12 Conference co-champs so that’s a big accomplishment this year,” said K-State fan Adam Bezdek. “Excited to see what next year brings but kind of bummed right now.”
