Now that the 2018 Kansas legislative session is over, Equality Kansas took some time to discuss the impact of several laws passed that will affect LGBTQ populations.
“We’d certainly like to get a non-discrimination statute passed to add sexual orientation or gender identity to the existing protections for people’s race, religion, national orientation and so on,” executive director of Equality Kansas, Thomas Witt said Wednesday.
Witt was joined at the head table with Sen. Lynn Rogers (D-Wichita) and Rep. John Carmichael (D-Wichita) who fielded questions about legislative processes with the lawmakers.
