Man arrested in Hutchinson park stabbing


HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) – A woman is recovering after being stabbed in a Hutchinson park Saturday.

The Hutchinson Police Department says they were dispatched out to Carey Park in the south part of town around 11:30 a.m.

The victim says she was stabbed in the head multiple times and was bleeding heavily when police arrived.

Officers say the suspect, 28-year-old Elijah B. Norris, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The victim has been taken to a Wichita hospital. Police said her injuries are non-life threatening but require “more advance treatment”.
