One man is behind bars after an early-morning burglary Sunday.
Wichita police officer Charley Davidson said Marvell Correia, 31, was arrested for suspicion of burglary, destruction of property, possession of methamphetamine and auto theft.
Correia allegedly drove a stolen silver Chevy Traverse into ABC Liquor in the 2200 block of N. Woodlawn around 4:30 a.m. and stole an item and fled.
Authorities were called to the scene where they found damage to the front of the business.
Later around 7:00 a.m. a Sedgwick County EMS unit was flagged down by a concerned citizen regarding an unresponsive male in a silver Chevy Traverse at Douglas and Oliver, authorities say.
Officers also responded and found evidence of the burglary at ABC Liquor. Authorities were able to determine that the Traverse Correia was driving was stolen earlier from a south Broadway car lot.
Davidson said the investigation is ongoing and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
