Man convicted of torturing and killing another man over meth

Local

One of five people accused of torturing and killing another man over drugs was found guilty.

Scottie Goodpaster Jr. was found dead in a Harvey County field back in November 2016. He was tortured. It stemmed from $185 lost in a methamphetamine deal.

A jury found Willie Morris guilty of several counts including first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated battery. He will be sentenced May 18.

Four other people, Alexandria Scott, Brian Bussart, Heidi Hillard, and Jeff Hillard, are charged in connection with Goodpaster’s death.
