Man critically injured in shooting following argument


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A 37-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after a shooting in the 4500 block of East Bayley. It happened near Lincoln and Oliver around 1 a.m.

When police arrived to the home, they found a man with a gunshot wound. A woman was taken into custody. Police said both were in a relationship.

“Through the investigation, it was learned there was an argument between the victim and a 40-year-old female suspect. During this argument, the suspect obtained a firearm and shot one time striking the victim,” said officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department.

The suspect was booked into jail for aggravated battery and three counts of children endangerment.

Two adults and three teenagers were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

The investigation is still taking place.
