Man in custody after throwing fountain drink and stabbing store clerk

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A man is now in custody after allegedly throwing a fountain drink and stabbing a convenience store employee. It happened last night around 11:40 at the Circle K store in the 500 block of North Seneca. 

Police said the suspect threw a fountain drink at the clerk, and a fight broke out between the clerk and the suspect. The clerk was cut several times. 

"When the officers arrived, the victim (clerk) was holding the door shut on the outside while the suspect was inside damaging property," said officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department. "He was throwing items inside the store."

Officers entered the business and recovered a knife. The suspect was booked for aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. 

The clerk received several lacerations and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
