Man injured after shooting in northeast Wichita


Wichita police said a 50-year-old man was shot in the hip early Thursday morning. It happened in the 2000 block of East 21st Street North around 12:15.

Through the investigation, police learned the victim in the shooting was at the Valero when a 48-year-old man got into a argument with a woman. She got into a vehicle with two other men. Those men in the vehicle fired multiple shots at the 48-year-old man. 

“A shot hit the 50-year-old victim not involved in the disturbance,” said officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department. 

Police located the 50-year-old victim of the shooting at 15th and Hillside in a vehicle. 

He was taken to Wesley Medical Center. Police said his injuries are non-life-threatening. 

Wichita police said investigators have developed a possible suspect in the shooting.
