Miranda Miller pleads guilty to second-degree murder in death of Evan Brewer

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Miranda Miller plead guilty to second-degree murder of 3-year-old Evan Brewer Wednesday morning in Sedgwick County Court.

Miller worked out a deal with prosecutors in exchange for her testimony against her boyfriend, Stephen Bodine. Prosecutors said the two killed Evan. His body was found encased in concrete.

Miller also pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping, abuse of child and aggravated child endangerment.

Sentencing for Miller is set for January 14 at 9 a.m.

Bodine was convicted last month of first-degree murder and faces a possible life sentence at his Dec. 17 sentencing.

Miller will spend at least 25 years in prison.

Members of the Brewer family say Wednesday's plea is a small step towards justice for little Evan.

"Remember Evan, Evan Connor Brewer Not Miranda or Beau, they do not matter because in our eyes, it doesn't matter what time they get it's not enough," said Cheryl Brewer, Evan's Aunt.

"He lives his spirit lives and everyday that we wake up it's just  another journey that we have to go on  and another day that we know we are going to fight," said Carol Brewer, Evan's Aunt.
