A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday at Wellness Place.

Wellness Place will provide Wichita-area residents and veterans with a new low-income housing option. It is located 3410 East Funston.

The building has been converted to 22 units for individuals 55 years and older, with a particular focus on veterans.

Those involved in the project said it is meant to give back to our servicemen and women.

“They’re the ones that need places like this and good places to live. Not just something that’s rundown, but we want to be proud of it. We want them to feel proud about living here, you know it’s out way of saying, ‘Thank you for your service,'” said Bill Quinn, Grandview ownership team.

“This is a miracle right here. God’s done a lot of miracles in my life. This is one of the top ones,” said veteran David Peoples, Wellness Place resident.

The building already has several residents.
