Authorities are investigating after a Newton police officer was involved in a fight at a home while serving an arrest warrant.

City officials say police officers were at a home in the 100 block of S. Main Friday afternoon. There the officers smelled an odor of drugs and then entered the house. A physical fight began once the officers entered the home, officials say.

One officer was thrown through a wall. That officer was not hurt.

Officials say three people were taken into custody on warrants and for charges related to the fight.

Multiple people were inside the home at the time, but everyone is safe. The incident is under investigation, officials say.
