DERBY, Kan. (KSNW) — The Derby Police Department (DPD) is looking for a person of interest in a fatal shooting that occurred in the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 28.

The person of interest has been identified by police as “D” or possibly “Dee.”

According to the DPD, they responded shortly before 3 a.m. to the report of a shooting in the 1200 block of N. Westview.

Upon arrival, Derby police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and later died.

The DPD says they also located several witnesses to the shooting at the scene.

Anyone who knows the identity of the person of interest is asked to contact the Derby Police Department by calling 788-1557, 911, or Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
