One person is dead and another injured after an early morning crash in west Wichita.
Sgt. Blake Mumma with the Wichita Police Department says officers were called to the area of 2nd and Edwards, around 1:30 Saturday morning.
“What we found was single vehicle accident, a single vehicle accident, the vehicle was engulfed in flames at the time of the arrival of law enforcement,” said Sgt. Mumma.
He says the driver, a 38-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sgt. Mumma says the passenger was removed from the vehicle and transported to Saint Francis Hospital in good condition.
KSN asked if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, Sgt. Mumma said that is to be determined as they continue to investigate.
