WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One person was critically wounded in a shooting in north Wichita Tuesday night. Sedgwick County dispatchers say the incident occurred in the 1600 block of N. Lorraine shortly before 6:45 p.m.
Wichita Police Sgt. John Ryan said after being shot, the victim ran down the street before collapsing. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Several witnesses in the area stated that there was an unknown suspect arguing with the victim prior to the shooting.
“Everyone seems to know each other,” Ryan said. “It’s not a random event.”
The suspect was not located. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
