WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident Sunday as David Butterworth, 50, of Wichita.
Officers were in the 37th North and Rock Road area around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when they came upon the accident scene.
According to the Wichita Police Department, Butterworth was riding a motorcycle northbound on Rock Road at a high rate of speed and crashed with an SUV that was turning into a gas station.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
Police say this is the 25th traffic fatality of 2021 and the third involving a motorcycle this year.
