Ribbon cutting marks completion of new Pawnee Prairie trails

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The city marked the completion of new and improved trails at Pawnee Prairie Park this morning with a ribbon cutting.

City councilman Jeff Blubaugh officiated the ceremony.

Along with new trails, there are new access points to nearby residential areas and increased equestrian parking

Several Wichita Police Officers were in attendance and explored the paths firsthand on bikes.

The mounted united was also there on horseback.

The new trails come two years after a horseback rider was thrown off their horse because of a bicyclist who shouldn’t have been there.
