A Kansas man, convicted of rape and capital murder, has lost his appeal to the Kansas Supreme Court.
Elgin Robinson Jr. was convicted in 2006 of hiring a friend to kill his pregnant girlfriend, 14-year-old Chelsea Brooks of Wichita.
His attorneys argued last month that the state had withheld information that might show a detective on the case was not a credible witness.
The Kansas Supreme Court denied their request to dig up new evidence after the trial. That means Robinson will continue to serve his sentence of life in prison without parole.
