Two people, including a student, were airlifted to a Wichita hospital after a school bus crash Monday.
It happened in the town of Plains in Meade County.
KSN spoke with Elton Argo, the superintendent, today about the crash. He says in his 22 years in the district, he’s never seen a crash like this.
Argo says the bus was hit head on with most damage in the front on the driver’s side.
He says the driver of the bus and one of the students were both taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
“It just breaks your heart to see some of these things happen,” said Argo. “The one little gal that’s going to have to have some surgery done, your heart just goes out to the parent and to the child.”
He says a couple of other students were examined at a hospital in Liberal.
Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
