School resource officer accused of child sex crimes


The Kansas Bureau of Investigations has arrested a Kansas City-area school resource officer for child sex crimes.

Mark Scheetz was arrested on suspicion of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

The KBI said the alleged crimes happened in Norton County between 2013 and 2015. Investigators claim Scheetz engaged in sex acts with a minor, sent lewd photos to minors and used electronic devices to solicit acts with minors.

Scheetz was arrested in Bonner Springs. He has been transported to the Norton County Jail The investigation is ongoing.

Scheetz is a school resource officer at F.L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He has been employed for one year. Before that, he worked for the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office from 2016 to 2018.
