The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office on Monday reported that a detention deputy had been booked into jail after being stopped by the Maize Police Department for a traffic violation in the 4400 block of North Maize Road.
The deputy was booked on allegations of Driving Under the Influence and headlights required.
Sheriff Jeff Easter said in the release, “The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is a professional organization that honors our core values of; Integrity, Duty, Ethics, Attitude, Leadership, and Service. We take pride in demonstrating these values on a daily basis. The Sheriff’s Office will always investigate any allegation against an employee with the due diligence that the public entrusts in us.”
The Sheriff’s Office said that Maize Police Department has jurisdiction in the case and there will be no further comments made by the Sheriff’s Office at this time.
