Sheriff’s office investigates after pedestrian hit by Wichita police car

Sedgwick County authorities say a ticket won’t be issued in the case of a pedestrian hit by a Wichita police vehicle.

It happened Monday evening around 6 p.m. in the area of Lincoln and Edgemoor.

Wichita police requested that the sheriff’s department investigate the accident. 

Deputies report a 60-year-old man had been hit by a WPD vehicle, suffering minor injures.

He refused to be taken to the hospital.

Investigators believe he was in the street at the time of the accident.
