WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A standoff that lasted several hours in southeast Wichita ended peacefully late Friday night.

Officer Charley Davidson says police were able to get the suspect to surrender.

According to the booking report, 39-year-old Charles Posey Daniels was arrested on suspicion of robbery and resisting/obstructing arrest.

Neither the suspect of any officers were injured during the several hour-long standoff.

Davidson says police were called to a home in the 1500 block of S. Ida around 6 p.m., regarding a robbery investigation.

He says as police approached the home, Daniels retreated into the home.

Police were able to get a search warrant and entered the home, finding that the suspect was barricaded in the attic.

Davidson says a negotiator worked with Daniels for several hours.

Shortly after 11 p.m., officers were able to take the man into custody peacefully.
