Suspect vehicle found after hit-and-run leaves woman seriously injured

UPDATE: A woman was struck by a car in east Wichita Wednesday afternoon after a traffic accident on Kellogg Drive.

Authorities say the woman was in a vehicle that was rear-ended Wednesday afternoon and got out of the vehicle to prevent the other driver from leaving the scene. 

The other driver then struck the woman with the vehicle and drove away from the scene, according to authorities. The woman was seriously injured. 

Police were able to locate the other vehicle. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. 

Emergency responders are on the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in east Wichita.

Authorities say one person is in serious condition after being hit by a vehicle in the area of Oliver and Kellogg Drive Wednesday afternoon. 

Scanner traffic indicated the crash could have been a hit-and-run, however authorities have not yet confirmed that information. 

Drivers should avoid the area as emergency responders work the scene.
