A tornado that touched down in Saline and Ottawa counties Tuesday evening was rated an EF-3 with an estimated peak wind of 140 mph.
The National Weather Service said the storm started 4.5 miles southwest of Tescott. The tornado tracked about 3 miles west of Minneapolis. The tornado was on the ground from 7:41 p.m. until 8:10 p.m.
The storm damaged several structures along its 14.5 mile long and half mile wide path. Damage was mostly EF-2 with a small area receiving EF-3 damage.
