Local

Two teens were wounded in a shooting in southeast Wichita Tuesday night. It happened in the 2800 block of East Harry around 7:50 p.m. Multiple shots were fired in the area.

When paramedics arrived, they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and a 17-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the neck. They were transported to the hospital. Police said their injuries are non-life-threatening.

“Though the investigation, it was learned that the two victims along with a 20-year-old male and a 15-year-old female were sitting in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. Three suspects began shooting at the vehicle,” said officer Charley Davidson.

Police are still searching for the suspects. They left in an older blue Honda Civic or Accord.

After the shooting, police interviewed several witnesses. One neighbor told KSN he was with his son at their home nearby when they heard the shots.

“It’s kind of scary that is happened that close to his bedroom, it’s crazy, it just waked my eyes up,” said Stacey Thomas. “It don’t matter where you at any given time, so you just got to count your blessings. I’m just glad there was no richocet or stray bullets came into my son’s room because it’s literally right there.”

If you know anything about the shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111 or investigators at 268-4407.
