WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A one-year-old boy was transported to the hospital Sunday after a near drowning in east Wichita. It happened around 3 p.m. at the Parke East Apartments. The apartments are located n the 1000 block of S. Woodlawn
Wichita police tell KSN News that a 24-year-old father was giving his two sons, 1 and 3, a bath. He stepped off to take a shower in the same area. The children were left in the tub to play.
“One of the children was able to get the water to turn back on causing the water to overflow,” said officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department. “The one year old was found face down. He was transported in critical condition. He is now in stable condition.”
Another person inside the house noticed water dripping from the upstairs bathroom and went to check on the children.
Police said they are continuing to investigate.
