Update: Man dies after early Sunday shooting in Wichita


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita man who was shot in his home early Sunday morning has died from his injuries.

Lt. Jason Stephens, Wichita Police Department, said police responded to the shooting around 2:25 a.m. Sunday where they found a 66-year-old man who had been shot in his home. Police identified the victim as Arthur Goebel.

Police say Goebel confronted a man who had forced entry into his home and was shot by the suspect at that time. The suspect then fled the home.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are asking anyone with information about the shooting please call the Wichita Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.

Sunday’s shooting was Wichita’s 21st homicide of the year.
