Veterans take to the skies for special event at Stearman Field

BENTON, Kan. (KSNW) - Eight people with military ties got the chance to take to the skies today.

This was the scene at Stearman field in Benton.

It was part of the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit that pays for the flights which the veterans say they really appreciate.

"I would just like to say I am very grateful to the people at regent who arranged this, especially for the gentleman with his plane, giving his time and his service, this is a fantastic experience, really grateful for the experience of being able to see and enjoy this," said  Bob Eyres, Army veteran.

The flyers ranged in age from a youthful 81 to 100 years old.
