Victim identified in deadly car-train collision


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One man is dead after a car was hit by a train. It happened at 700 East Indianapolis around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police said a 2012 Chevy Malibu was westbound and left the road. The car got stuck on the tracks and was struck by a BNSF train.

The driver exited the car and ran away. The 40-year-old passenger inside, identified as Deandre Parker from Wichita, was killed.

Right now, police are still trying to locate the driver. Police said he could be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
