The first annual Water Lantern Festival will be held at Wichita OJ Watson Park Saturday.
The event will be complete with music and food trucks. Attendees will also decorate water lanterns and set them afloat in the park’s pond.
“It’s just bamboo wood. A two-tiered bamboo wood base and then it has four wooden sticks sticking up and it has rice paper on the outside,” said Lindsay Struthers, event coordinator. “People typically decorate the outside of the rice paper and a lot of people dedicate to people who they’ve lost.”
Tickets are on sale now. They are $35 online or $40 at the door. Buy yours here.
The event will be held Saturday, April 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at OJ Watson Park, 3022 South McLean Boulevard.
