‘We are standing for Lucas’: Community members gather for missing child

A vigil was held tonight for a 5-year-old boy who disappeared nearly three weeks ago.

Lucas Hernandez was reported missing by his stepmother on February 17.

Thursday, dozens gathered near his home where he was last seen.

They say they want to give him a voice and make sure he’s not forgotten.

“We are standing for Lucas. There may be other meetings where we’re addressing something else, but at this point, we just want to stand for Lucas, we want him to know that he finally has a voice, that he’s not invisible anymore,” said Shelia Medlan, vigil organizer.

Lucas is four feet tall and weighs about 60 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

If you have any information about Lucas, call the police at 316-383-4661.
