Westbound Kellogg shut down for pedestrian, vehicle collision

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – One person is in critical condition and westbound lanes of Kellogg are shut down right now as police and crews work the scene of a pedestrian and vehicle collision. Kellogg is expected to be open again around midnight.

The victim is a man in his 50’s, who was on Kellogg when he was hit by a vehicle. It happened just before 9:00 p.m. Saturday night about a hundred meters west of the Meridian exit.

“That’s what we’re trying to figure out, we don’t know why a pedestrian was on Kellogg,” says Sgt. Mike Linnehan of the Wichita Police Department. “The driver of the vehicle that hit him did stop to render aid.”

Sgt. Linnehan says the victim was in critical condition and taken to the hospital. He also says there is no evidence of alcohol involvement, and it was an accident.
