Fans all across the state sat in front of their televisions watching the game.
Fans at Public at the Brickyard were cheering loudly for the Jayhawks from tip-off until the final whistle blew. And they’ve already made up their minds this tournament they said KU is going all the way.
Fans said it was the game they hoped for.
“This is amazing, this is Rock Chalk nation, this is what it’s all about,” said Londa Chadd, Wichita.
“It was such a great game love to see it, Rock Chalk,” said Paul Bammel, Wichita.
And there were moments that literally got more than 30 Jayhawk fans off their seats.
“I’ve been a KU fan for a while,” said one fan.
The match up against Duke had some fans anxious about the outcome.
“I think both teams have been playing really well,” said Brooke Russell, Wichita.
But others said they had a good feeling about KU on the court.
“They’re going all the way, whoever wins this game is winning the championship,” said Eric Weisshaar. Wichita.
People enjoyed drinks, food, and their own basketball match while watching the game on several screens both inside and outside.
Many people said it was a great atmosphere for KU fans.
“It’s fun to hangout with everybody and feel the excitement for everyone enjoying the game,” said Treasure Wehmer, Winfield.
After the win with a final score of 81-85 Jayhawks, fans posed for pictures, chanted, and celebrated their victory.
