A Wichita man was arrested Thursday morning after a police pursuit ended with a crash on Rock Road.

Police say Carlos Williams, 23, was arrested for resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding police, hit-and-run,  possession of marijuana with the intent to sell along with other traffic violations.

Authorities say an officer attempted to pull Williams over around 9 a.m. when he was seen speeding along Rock Rd.

Williams pulled a U-turn after pulling into a parking lot nearby, according to authorities. He then began driving southbound on Rock Road. Shortly later, he hit a black Chevy Suburban and a silver Volvo at Central and Rock. Williams then fled the scene on foot but he was apprehended shortly later.

Authorities say Williams was also involved in a pursuit with Bel Aire Police Department before the incident on Rock Rd.

The officer was on Rock Road for the “Operation Impact” initiative where authorities in Sedgwick County participated in a 24-hour “no-tolerance” enforcement operation.
