The Wichita Police Department arrested Willie White, 53, of Wichita on charges of aggravated residential burglary, residential burglary, and theft Thursday regarding two burglaries.

Officers responded to a burglary report call at a home in the 5500 block of south Mosley on Wednesday evening after a man reported unknown suspects entering his home and taking electronics. Investigators later learned a dark-colored Jeep was involved.

Officers responded to a suspicious character call in the 6400 block of South Madison Thursday involving a dark-colored Jeep after a man reported that the vehicle was involved with a burglary to his home on Wednesday. Officers said the man told them two unknown suspects in a dark-colored Jeep had entered his attached garage on Wednesday and took a power tool. Police said the man entered through an unlocked side door and the resident was home when it happened.

On Thursday afternoon, officers noticed the dark-colored Jeep leaving the Heritage Inn on South Broadway. Officers stopped the vehicle and White was taken into custody without incident.

The investigation led Officers to a room at the Heritage Inn where stolen items from both burglaries were recovered. Other potential stolen property was located as well.

The investigations are ongoing and the cases will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
