A Wichita Fire Department official said a woman is dead after intentionally setting a fire. It happened last Tuesday night in the 2000 block of West MacArthur.
Lt. Jose Ocadiz identified the victim as 48-year-old Kimberly Shock. She was taken to the hospital with injuries and died this past weekend.
A Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputy was delivering a search warrant when flames ignited at the home.
A man inside the home was also taken to the hospital with second-degree burns but was later released. A county deputy was treated for smoke inhalation.
It is the fourth fire death of the year in the city.
