Woman killed in early morning shooting


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police are investigating a deadly shooting. It happened early Thursday morning in the 700 block of North Edwards.

On arrival, police found a 36-year-old woman dead inside the home. According to police, shots were fired from outside the home.

There were four people inside the home at the time of the shooting. It included the victim and three other men.

“It appears through our investigation that an unknown person outside the residence fired several shots into the residence. There were three other individuals inside the residence. When officers arrived, those individuals were transported to the sixth floor for interviews,” said Capt. Brett Allred, Wichita Police Department.

Police said investigators are busy trying to figure out what led up to the shooting.

Police do not have anyone in custody. The victim’s name hasn’t been released. Police do not believe the shooting is gang related.
