Local

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 21-year-old woman is dead and a 22-year-old man was injured after a rollover crash near East 26th Street North and Market Street.

Police said shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, they responded to an overturned Mazda.

Police said Natalie Ibarra of Wichita was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 22-year-old man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. He was treated and released. Police said he was driving the car.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the driver and Ibarra were traveling north on Market when their vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole and overturned,” said officer Charley Davidson, Wichita Police Department.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and believe alcohol and speed are possible factors.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
