Do you have some gift wrapping that you need done? KSN is proud to team up with EmberHope Youthville for a gift-wrapping event tomorrow.
During Wrapping It Up For Hope, the KSN team and EmberHope staff will wrap gifts for a small donation that go to the non-profit organization.
EmberHope is in Newton. It provides foster care, residential services and clinical services to kids all across Kansas.
EmberHope said you’re welcome to donate other much-needed items: personal hygiene products, girls clothing, school supplies and shoes.
According to Lisa Capps, with EmberHope, this is an opportunity to bring awareness about the need for foster care homes in Kansas.
“There are more than 7,000 kids in the state of Kansas that are in foster care, but there are fewer than 3,000 foster homes,” she said.
Staff hopes the event encourages people to learn more about the important need of foster homes.
“If there are individuals who don’t necessarily need their gifts wrapped but would like to talk to us, if they ever considered the idea of fostering, we would certainly have people on site for Wrapping it Up For Hope to talk about that too,” Capps said.
Join the KSN family and EmberHope tomorrow at New Market Square. We’ll be wrapping gifts from noon to 4 p.m. Donations go to EmberHope.
