NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) – Newtown Police Department have confirmed the death of Dr. Jeremy Richman, father of Sandy Hook tragedy victim, Avielle Richman.

Richman, 49, was found dead at approximately 7 a.m. after the report of a suicide at Edmond Town Hall located at 45 Main Street in Newtown, Connecticut. He had an office there.

According to Newtown Police: “The death appears to be a suicide but police will not disclose the method or any other details of  the death, only to state the death does not appear suspicious.”

Jeremy Richman founded The Avielle Foundation less than a week after the Sandy Hook Tragedy happened.

It is the third suicide tied to a deadly school shooting in over a week. Sunday, a Parkland High School shooting survivor died from an apparent suicide. It was one week after another survivor of the massacre took her life.
