Alaina Housley, a Pepperdine University freshman and Napa native who was reported missing after the Thousand Oaks bar shooting late Wednesday, has been confirmed dead.

Housley, who is also the niece of “Sister Sister” actress Tamera Mowry-Housley and her husband Adam Housley, was reporting missing when the shooting happened at Borderline Bar & Grill during “college country night,” which attracted a young crowd, many from nearby colleges.

In a statement, Tamera and her husband said:

“Our hearts are broken,” the couple said in a statement. “We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time.”

Earlier Thursday, Mowry had taken to social media to search for Alaina after she saw a tweet from a suitemate who reported Alaina missing.

Alaina is originally from Napa, where she attended Vintage High, Silverado Middle and Vichy Elementary Schools.
