BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. (KY3) — A Cotter, Ark. man knows the Baxter County Jail too well.

In fact, that may be an understatement.

Sheriff John Montgomery says his deputies arrested Aaron Mathew Tullos, 35, after a complaint call. The sheriff says his records show the man has been booked into the jail 56 times. A lieutenant on Wednesday said he counted 60 times on various charges. Tullos’ criminal record dates back to 2001.

Baxter County Arrest...Again

Deputies responded to a call Friday night on Powell Avenue in Cotter that a man was waving a firearm. The deputies found Tullos asleep or unconscious. The deputy then disarmed him and arrested him.

Officers seized the firearm and a set of digital scales commonly associated with drug distribution were seized and taken into evidence. The incident occurred within 1,000 feet of the North Arkansas Youth Center, thereby providing for a penalty enhancement.

At the jail, deputies say Tullos dropped a plastic baggy containing a substance determined to be methamphetamine. It weighed approximately 10.7 grams.

Tullos faces several charges:

-Possession of Methamphetamine with Purpose to Deliver – Felony
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
-Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons (convicted felon) – Felony
-Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms – Felony
-Furnishing Prohibited Articles – Felony
-Resisting Arrest – Misdemeanor
-Proximity to Certain Facilities – Penalty
-Enhancement Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement

A judge set bond at $15,000.
