On Newsfeed Now for April 18, we kicked off with severe weather that’s threatening a large part of the south this week. Tornado warnings have been issued in Louisiana, flooding has caused school closures in Arkansas, and Alabama is now preparing for storms. Meteorologists Thomas Geboy from Mobile, AL and Trevor Sonnier from Layafette, LA gave us the latest on the storms that are moving across the region.

At XXX we move on to a Tennessee rescue story. Last summer the world watched and waited as 12 soccer players were lost in a cave in Thailand. Dramatic rescues and expert divers brought them to safety. One of those experts recently came to Tennessee to find thrill in an underwater cave near Nashville but got lost and ultimately trapped underground for more than a day. WKRN’s Kim Wynee shares more details behind his rescue.

Our next story took us to Washington DC where a lot of buzz is happening. It has been two years in the making–the Mueller report is now out and the redacted version is now available for all to read. Earlier this morning Attorney General William Barr spoke from the Department of Justice where he said several times that the special counsel found no collusion between Russians, the Trump campaign and any other Americans. At XXX our DC correspondent Alexandra Limon breaks down this morning’s press conference and what’s next.

And finally, we turned to Louisiana to a story we’ve been following for a while on Newsfeed Now. You might remember three historically black churches were burned and the suspect has been arrested. But now money is flooding in thanks in part to a fire at another church an ocean and thousands of miles away. KLFY’s Tracy Writz joins us at XXX with the report.
