Newsfeed Now for April 17: Class ring reunion; Touching moment after heart transplant

Newsfeed Now

On Newsfeed Now for April 17, we kicked off with severe weather that’s threatening a large part of the country Wednesday-Thursday. KSN Meteorologist Ronelle Williams gave us the latest on storms that are expected to have the greatest impact on Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas but neighhboring states should also be on the lookout.

We stayed in Kansas at 5:20 on the show clock for the story of a class ring lost 30+ years ago getting back to its owner. KNS’s Emily Younger joined the conversation to tell us how it was all possible thanks to a man, his metal detector and a Facebook post.

It was on to Texas at 9 minutes into the show for a touching story about organ donation and how it’s impacted two families. After a man’s heart transplant he met the donor’s child and gave him the chance to hear his late father’s heartbeat for the first time.

At the 14:15 mark, we moved on to Tennessee to talk about two of the most popular forms of entertainment –the NBA and competitive gaming–coming together. WATN’s Parker Hays shared details on how the Memphis Grizzlies are taking part in the NBA 2K League.
