BEAUMONT, Kan. (KSNW) – Two people walked away from a small plane crash in Butler County Saturday afternoon near the town of Beaumont.

Investigators say the plane was trying to land on a grass runway, and it encountered a strong crosswind.

The plane made a hard landing, and the front landing gear collapsed causing the plane to flip over.

Two Wichita men were in the plane, and both were able to get out.

The pilot had a gash on his forehead, but no serious injuries.
