Operation Holiday moves into its newest headquarters

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – After months of planning and preparation, the Operation Holiday distribution center is finally starting to come together.

“It goes from a very congested working warehouse. The company that is hosting us moved their things out of the way so we had a blank slate this morning,” said Ashley Davis. “Boom! Now, you see behind us what a couple of truckloads from Two Men.”

The process to find a home took longer than intended, but it’s a piece of the puzzle they needed to make it all work.

“We are dead in the water without out that,” said Davis. “We can collect all we want, but if we don’t have a place to warehouse, sort, and then distribute, we can’t get off the ground.”

Now that things are moving in the right direction, the next step is moving all the donations in. A big part of that effort, from start to finish, is facilitated by Two Men and a Truck.

“We’re here to help them get open,” said Garret Peterman outside one of the trucks stocked with food from the Kansas Food Bank. “They need tables, food delivered, and also afterwards, we’re going to help tear down, because, again, these are only warehouses meant for Operation Holiday–so once it’s over with, they need to move everything out of there.”

Officials with Operation Holiday say they plan to accept donations all the way through their distribution dates, Dec. 15 – 17.RELATED LINK | Operation Holiday stories and information
