Boston Celtics great and Former KU standout Paul Pierce is getting criticized by NBA fans for saying he had a better career than Dwyane Wade.

Last night on ESPN’s NBA Countdown, Pierce said he undoubtedly had the better career. He continued by saying if he had the opportunity to play with Shaquille O’Neal or LeBron James he would have won 5 or 6 championships.

“When I was 24 years old, you give me Shaq. When I’m 24 or 25, you give me LeBron and Bosh I’d be sitting with 5 or 6 championships. Easy,” Pierce said.

Wade, who plans to retire at season’s end, is often considered one of the three best shooting guards of all time. He didn’t respond to Pierce directly but quote tweeted other people refuting Pierce’s claims.
